Claudia Bonfiglioli
Principal and member of the orchestra since 2013.
Claudia Bonfiglioli has been a section leader with the second violin section of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra since 2013. She previously served as concertmaster with the Gävle Symphony Orchestra, Royal Swedish Orchestra, Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra, among others.
Bonfiglioli has appeared as a soloist with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy, as well as with the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra in Lalo’s Symphonie Espagnole and Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 4. In 2015 she was a soloist in the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra’s performance of Amanda Maier-Röntgen’s rediscovered late-nineteenth century violin concerto, and in September 2020 she played the Violin Concerto by Bo Linde. Both these performances are available at Konserthuset Play. She is also an active chamber musician.
Claudia Bonfiglioli studied at the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg under Milan Vitek and Per Enoksson, the Royal College of Music (soloist diploma) under Henryk Kowalski and Joakim Svenheden, and at Edsberg Institute of Music (chamber music) under Ulf Wallin. She has also participated in master classes with, among others, Leonidas Kavakos, Boris Belkin, Dora Swartzberg and Isaac Stern.
