Anna Stigmer
Member of the orchestra since 2000.
Anna Stigmer has been a member of the second violin section of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra since 2000. She began her violin studies with Inge Thorsson in her hometown of Uppsala at the age of 10. She subsequently studied at the Royal College of Music/Edsberg with Endre Wolf and Jennifer Nuttall Wolf. She then studied with Ilya Grubert at Rotterdams Conservatorium, where she obtained her diploma. She has also studied with experts including Lars Frydén, Björn Sjögren, Michaela Martin, Mats Zetterkvist, Leon Spierer, the Amadeus Quartet and the Alban Berg Quartet.
In addition to her position with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Anna Stigmer is deeply interested in chamber music and has played in Konserthuset’s chamber music subscriptions on several occasions, as well as in other contexts. She has participated in master classes with, among others, the Orpheus Quartet, Isaac Stern, the Emerson Quartet and the Juilliard String Quartet.
