Jonna Simonsson

Jonna Simonsson has been a member of the first violin section of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra since 2024. In the spring of 2024, she also completed her master’s and bachelor’s studies with a specialization in chamber music at Edsberg Manor/Royal College of Music in Stockholm, where she studied under Per Enoksson and Mats Zetterqvist.

As a soloist and chamber musician, she has performed at festivals such as the Copenhagen Summer Festival, Vamlingbo Chamber Music Festival, Valdres Summer Symphony, the Korsholm Music Festival, and the Båstad Chamber Music Festival. Even during her studies, she was frequently engaged as section leader and concertmaster throughout Sweden.

Jonna Simonsson began playing the violin at the age of six under the tutelage of Haiou Meng, a long-time member of the first violin section of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra. She was later admitted to the Young Talents program at the Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo. In addition to her musical pursuits, she has also worked as a producer for the Dala-Floda Opera Festival and the youth competition Young Soloists.
