Joakim Agnas
Principal and member of the orchestra since 2003.
Trumpet player Joakim Agnas has been section leader with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra since 2003. He studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm with Claes Strömblad. He has been a member of Stockholm Chamber Brass and is also active as a composer and arranger; in addition, he regularly works as a studio musician.
Joakim Agnas has appeared as a soloist on several occasions with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, including in conjunction with the Nobel Award Ceremony in 2002, when he and his brother Urban played Vivaldi’s Concerto for Two Trumpets and the first movement from Bach’s Double Concerto for Two Violins in an arrangement for two trumpets and orchestra. He has also performed in Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto, and at the 2016 Composer Weekend he performed in Mats Larsson Gothe’s Trumpet Concerto.
Joakim Agnas often performs jazz with his brothers, Tomas and Urban Agnas. He also appears in Konserthuset’s chamber music subscriptions.
