Daniel Kåse
Prinicipal and member of the orchestra since 1991.
Daniel Kåse has been a member of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra since 1991, as well as the percussion section leader. He grew up in Helsingborg and studied at the Malmö Academy of Music, primarily under Lennart Gruvstedt. He has also played with the symphony orchestras in Norrköping, Helsingborg and Malmö.
In addition to his work with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, he has played drums and sung vocals in his own band, Brighteye Brison, which has released several albums.
Daniel Kåse frequently participates in Konserthuset’s chamber music subscriptions and has also been a soloist with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra on many occasions, most recently in Per Nørgård’s Percussion Concerto No. 1 “For a Change” in conjunction with the 2012 Composer Festival. He opened the 2011 Composer Festival featuring Steve Reich together with Reich himself in the piece Clapping Music.
