Beate Lemke
Member of the orchestra since 1991.
Beate Lemke studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm with Elemér Lavotha and Mats Rondin. She carried out her diploma concert in 1990 with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, in which she performed the solo in Antonin Dvorák’s Cello Concerto. She subsequently continued her studies for a period at the Banff Centre of Fine Arts in Canada.
Beate Lemke came to the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra in 1991 and has performed as the soloist in Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with the orchestra, led by Nilas Willén. She previously served as an alternate solo cellist in the Malmö Symphony Orchestra.
In addition to her position in the cello section of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, on several occasions Beate Lemke has participated in chamber music concerts in Grünewald Hall.
