An Evening of Django Reinhardt

A Tribute to Django Reinhardt
Sweden’s leading interpreter of Django Reinhardt, Gustav Lundgren, returns to Stockholm Concert Hall with his trio, which comprises Martin Widlund on guitar and Andreas Unge on double bass. Lundgren is probably Sweden’s most internationally active jazz guitarist today. We have previously heard him at Stockholm Concert Hall with Stockholm Swing All Stars, Edouard Pennes, Blue House Jazz Orchestra and Hot Club de Suède.
Gustav Lundgren has toured 25 countries on 5 continents; he has contributed to 55 albums and released around a dozen in his own name. Musicians he has worked with include Lisa Nilsson, Linda Sundblad, Salem Al Fakir, Kleerup, Maia Hirasawa, Jonas Kullhammar, Wille Crafoord, Petra Marklund and Swedish House Mafia.
In addition to the trio, we will also hear two guests: violinist Aurélien Trigo, who has long been one of the most important names in gypsy jazz, and the young French guitarist Antoine Boyer – who at just 12 years old was named the most important Django Reinhardt successor since Biréli Lagrène.
