In the Jazz Ring with Magnus and Emma
Magnus Lindgren presents 3 x European jazz. The second encounter this autumn features British saxophonist Emma Rawicz.
Across three concerts in the Grünewald Hall this autumn, Magnus Lindgren invites musical friends – one international guest per occasion. This intimate venue features a rarely used stage platform that rises from the centre of the floor, creating a space for musical encounters with the audience seated all around. A jazz ring, of sorts.
The second of this autumn’s musical meetings features the young but already highly acclaimed English saxophonist, bandleader and composer Emma Rawicz. She tours internationally and is involved in a wide range of collaborations. Her latest album, Chroma (2023), received great critical praise.
Magnus Lindgren’s artistry is defined by openness and curiosity. Over the years, the jazz musician Lindgren has explored everything from Brazilian samba to Swedish folk music. For 20 years, he also co-led Konserthuset’s own big band, the Blue House Jazz Orchestra, together with trumpeter Peter Asplund. He has released seven albums and in recent years collaborated with artists such as John Beasley and Germany’s SWR Big Band.
