Soup with bassoon and harp
Fiery flamenco, a rock classic and opera.
Welcome to a soup concert featuring the exciting combination of bassoon and harp. Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra's bassoonist Jens-Christoph Lemke, together with guest harpist Margareta Nilsson, presents a program ranging from Franz Schubert's well-known Ständchen to a true rock classic - Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody!
The program also includes beautifully melancholic music by the French harpist and composer Bernard Andrès, Deborah Henson-Conant's fiery Baroque Flamenco for solo harp, and an elegant arrangement of Puccini's famous aria Vissi d’arte from Tosca.
Jens-Christoph Lemke has been the section leader in the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra's bassoon section since 1989 and has performed as a soloist with the orchestra on several occasions. Margareta Nilsson is one of the country's most established harpists, performing as a chamber musician and soloist. As an orchestral harpist, she has performed with the major orchestras in Sweden and Norway.
