British and Swedish
The Eric Ericson Chamber Choir performs British and Swedish choral music.
The Eric Ericson Chamber Choir was founded in 1945 by Eric Ericson, and since then it has taken a central role in the Swedish and international music scenes. The Eric Ericson Chamber Choir and Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra have enjoyed a close partnership since 2003.
Today the choir’s repertoire is incredibly broad, as is shown in this programme with music from the renaissance to the present. For generations of Swedish composers, “the Chamber Choir” was the ideal ensemble, with its typical Nordic sound and virtuosity, and central to prominent Swedish composers like Ingvar Lidholm and Sven-David Sandström, whose music is included here.
Along with Swedish music the programme features a number of exemples of British choral music, and the Eric Ericson Chamber Choir is led by the young British conductor Harry Bradford.
