Pianorama – French guest
Philippe Cassard solo and four hands with Roland Pöntinen.
Pianorama is a festival featuring piano in the lead role in all concerts. This year, we explore Paris, France during the three-day festival.
The founder and artistic director of Pianorama is Roland Pöntinen, who also participates with several of Sweden’s leading pianists, including established performers as well as rising stars. In addition, we hear the Royal Wind Quintet Stockholm, with musicians from the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Royal Swedish Orchestra, as well as some of Sweden’s most prominent string musicians.
This concert welcomes French pianist Philippe Cassard. He regularly performs with orchestras such as the London Philharmonic, BBC Philharmonic and Orchestre National de France. At this Pianorama concert, he performs music by Schubert and Debussy, including the latter’s Six Épigraphes Antiques for four hands together with Roland Pöntinen.
