Haiou Meng has been a member of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra since 1995 and plays in the first violin section. She grew up in the city of Nanchang, capital of the province of Jiangxi, in southern China. She studied at the conservatory in Beijing and later at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. At this concert, she will perform with her son, pianist Nils Hansson Meng, who won first place at Stockholm’s international piano competition in 2015.

The programme reflects her Chinese background. In addition to Ludvig Norman’s Five tone images for violin and piano and Stenhammar’s Fantasia in B Minor for piano solo, we will also hear the idyllic Pastoral by Hankun Sha, and Fritz Kreisler’s masterful Tambourin Chinois.

Menu: Wild mushroom soup with pickled mushrooms (lactose and gluten-free)
