One of the world’s leading brass ensembles.
After her jubilant appearance at the 2013 BBC Proms in London, Norwegian trumpet player Tine Thing Helseth has been acclaimed as one of the leading performers of her instrument. She made her debut with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra in 2018 as the soloist in Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto in E-flat Major.
Here, we will get to hear her with her own tenThing Ensemble, which she formed in 2007 and which has only female members – a project she started for fun when she gathered her fellow brass-playing friends.
Today, tenThing Ensemble is one of the world’s foremost brass ensembles, acclaimed worldwide for their unique approach to performances of works by famous classical composers. The arrangements are created in partnership with Norwegian guitarist and arranger Jarle Storløkken. At this concert, we will hear music by Grieg, Mozart, Vivaldi, Piazzolla, Bizet and more.
