Sagas – Orchestral Fantasy Music
Music from The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones and many more.
”Thank you for a fantastic concert!”
”One of the best performances I have ever heard – I am humbled!”
”What fantastic music, beautiful strings and wonderful vocals. I’m shivering with delight!”
”You just have to add some extra shows! Can we petition this!?!?!?”
These were just a handful of all the ecstatic response we got after the premiere of our fantasy themed concert SAGAS in 2015. Of course, things were looking good beforehand. The hype was enormous, and tickets sold out in record time. Still, with ten full minutes of standing ovations, six or seven (we lost count) curtain calls, and a roar that shook the very walls of the Stockholm Concert Hall, the high expectations were met. And then some.
In the four years that have passed, SAGAS has been performed by great orchestras around Scandinavia. Also, since 2015 vocalist Sabina Zweiacker has risen to fandom fame with celebrated performances with ensembles like the Swedish Radio Symphony, the Gothenburg Symphony and the Oslo Philharmonic. SAGAS is a concert by Orvar Säfström and Underscore Productions, who have also created WE COME IN PEACE (2013) and THE HORROR (2017) with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra.
By public demand SAGAS now returns, in an updated format. In addition to music from Hayao Miyazaki’s anime adventure Princess Mononoke, the smash hit game series The Witcher and 80’s fairy tale classic The Princess Bride, this time we perform even more music from Game of Thrones, Harry Potter and Conan the Barbarian than we did last time. We’ve also included music from all three films in Peter Jackson’s original Lord of the Rings trilogy.
”The music we associate with greatest stories of our time is deeply rooted in our sense of identity. The soundtrack of our favorite films is in many ways also the soundtrack of our lives.” (Orvar Säfström, producer and host).
