Piano Recital – Garrick Ohlsson

In the last four decades, this well-established soloist has appeared on all of the major stages globally, and is acclaimed for his masterful musicality and technique.

Ohlsson is considered one of the leading interpreters of the piano music of Chopin, and has a repertoire of over 80 concertos distributed among the entire range of piano literature. A single season might include Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3; Brahms’ Piano Concertos No. 1 and 2, and pieces by Mozart, Grieg and Copland, as well as new music that is dedicated to him.

Garrick Ohlsson plays chamber music with relish and has collaborated with the Takács Quartet, the Cleveland Quartet, the Emerson and Tokyo String Quartets, and with vocalists including Magda Olivero, Jessye Norman and Ewa Podles. 

During Garrick Ohlsson’s visit to Stockholm, we will also get to hear him as a soloist with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and Sakari Oramo in Busoni’s enormous and rarely performed Piano Concerto (5 and 7 April).
