The opening of the Parliamentary Session usually includes a concert at Konserthuset with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra. Guests include representatives of the royal family, and members of the Riksdag and the government.
For the unusual 2020 event, the first violins of the orchestra performed in the empty second chamber of the Swedish Riksdag. The speaker of the Riksdag, Andreas Norlén, acted as host of the concert.
