Merregnon: Mako
Mako the dog is portrayed in Merregnon: Land of Silence by the marimba, bongo and congas. These instruments are played by the orchestra’s percussionist. We can hear that Mako is adventurous, proud and stubborn. He is also Miru’s loyal friend and protector.

Percussion can include melodic instruments and instruments that you strike with sticks or with your hands, like bongos and congas. Mako’s melody is played by the marimba.
In Merregnon: Land of Silence, Miru embarks on an unforgettable adventure together with her childhood friend Hikito and the loyal dog Mako. Their goal is to find out what is plaguing the Land of Silence, Merregnon. Merregnon is a symphonic tale of courage, perseverance, solidarity and freedom.
The fantastical world is painted with captivating melodies and symphonic sounds. As in Sergei Prokofiev’s classical musical tale, Peter and the Wolf, each character is portrayed by a distinct theme played by one of the orchestra’s various instruments.
The music is composed by Yoko Shimomura, one of the most prominent video game music composers of our time. She composed the music for internationally best-selling games like Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy XV.
