With his elegant and tasteful style, Jan Lundgren interprets songs by greats such as the recently passed American pianist McCoy Tyner, famous for his collaborations with saxophone player John Coltrane, jazz icon Charlie Parker, who would have turned 100 this year, and Duke Ellington.
We will also hear a warm and surprising version of Povel Ramel’s The Last Lass, which became a beloved hit featuring Monica Zetterlund. Jan Lundgren builds upon the traditions of pianists like Bengt Hallberg and Jan Johansson, which can be heard in his own compositions – such as the inviting opening number Open Your Mind, the understated and elegant Blue Silence, and the melodically swinging Love in Return.
