Jazz by Magnus Lindgren

Saxophonist, clarinetist and flutist Magnus Lindgren has secured a unique position in the European music scene. Meet him in this live streamed performance from the Konserthuset Stockholm, together with pianist Daniel Karlsson, bassist Josef Karnebäck and drummer Robert Mehmet Ikiz.

Important sources of inspiration to multi-instrumentalist Magnus Lindgren have always been Miles Davis and Quincy Jones. Lindgren has collaborated with artists like Herbie Hancock, Gregory Porter, James Ingram, Bobby McFerrin and many more. He is driven by a strong urge to push the boundaries of his music in a playful way – and that’s something we definitely experience in this concert, featuring both new and older material composed by Lindgren.

He teams up with Daniel Karlsson, since the late 90’s one of Sweden’s most celebrated pianists, known for his work with the band Oddjob and vocalists like Rigmor Gustafsson, Viktoria Tolstoy and Lisa Nilsson. We also meet the prize-winning bass player Josef Karnebäck and drummer Robert Mehmet Ikiz, member of Nils Landgren Funk Unit and Petter Bergander Trio.
