Ten positions are open for application 2025/26: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, violin (two positions), viola, cello and double bass. The deadline for application on universityadmissions.se and on Muvac is Monday January 15, 2025.
Application
For more information about the course and for a link to the electronic application at universityadmissions.se, please visit ltu.se/orchestraacademy (opens in new window) and universityadmissions.se (opens in new window)
Entry requirements
The application repertoire can be found here. The recording should be with video and high-quality audio, and the concerto can be recorded with or without pianist. The file should be uploaded as a Youtube video with the links submitted to our Muvac application page see links below. Please record the solo concerto in one take, and all orchestral excerpts in another, without any edits or cuts. We ask that you remain in frame for the duration of the recording and recommend the usage of an external microphone, and a room that is neither overly nor underly acoustic.
Deadline for submitting the recordings is Wednesday January 15, 2025.
The recordings make up the first of two admission tests. Applicants with approved work samples will be invited to an audition which constitutes the second admission test. Applicants who pass the audition will be ranked based on instrument.
Basic knowledge of English is recommended but no proof of English language proficiency is required.
Please be advised that approved documentation of the formal academic requirements (Bachelor of Arts in music or equivalent) is required for admission to the academy. See link below. An invitation to the audition is not a guarantee that all your formal documents are approved. Failure to supply the required documents will disqualify a candidate. Deadline for admitting formal documentation is February 3, 2025.

Please see this page (opens in a new window) for how you prove your merits from non-Swedish universities.
The formal part of the application is done through the Swedish university admission system, universityadmissions.se. We strongly urge all applicants to carefully read through the formal documentation requirements. Please see the page linked below for more detailed information, and an overview of the requirements.
Instructions regarding formal documentation and proving your bachelor (opens in a new window)
