ECHO – European Concert Hall Organisation
Konserthuset Stockholm is the only concert hall in Scandinavia that is a member of the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO), a platform for exchange and collaboration among 22 of Europe’s leading concert halls. ECHO members work together for the development and possibilities of the concert halls, and reflect on the role concert halls play for audiences, musicians and society. The individual concert halls represent enormous variation both artistically and organisationally, but are united in the ambition to present the highest musical quality to the largest possible audience.
ECHO members join forces for shared initiatives and exchanges. One such initiative is Rising Stars, in which each year, the various concert halls nominate an up-and-coming musician or ensemble from their own country. A handful of musicians are selected from the nominees and receive the unique opportunity to perform at the ECHO concert halls. Konserthuset Stockholm annually welcomes these Rising Stars at its own chamber music festival, with the short and sweet title – Rising Stars.
