Åsa Strid

Member of the orchestra since 2003.

Åsa Strid has been a member of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra since 2003. She studied at the Royal College of Music with Ola Karlsson, and with Elemér Lavotha in her diploma programme. On several occasions, she has received the Royal Swedish Academy of Music’s international scholarship, which has given her the opportunity to study in London under Ralph Kirshbaum and Robert Cohen.

Åsa Strid completed her diploma concert in May 2000 with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of conductor Göran W. Nilson. At that time she was the soloist in Ernest Bloch’s Schelomo: Rhapsodie Hébraïque for Violoncello and Orchestra.

Over the years, Åsa Strid has regularly performed in Konserthuset’s various chamber music subscriptions, such as the Philharmonic Up-Close and Soup Concerts, most recently in 2015, in performances of Ernst von Dohnányi’s Serenade in C Major and Jean Sibelius’ String Trio in G Minor.
